Through TikTok, I’ve discovered new stories, new authors, and new ways of thinking about reading. Not only do I consume an overwhelming amount of book content, but I also follow creators with wildly different tastes and perspectives (check out this blog I wrote about my favorite Booktokers for more). Some love fantasy, some swear by romance, some live for literary fiction, and some read everything in between. And because of that, my reading life has been shaped by people—and students, thanks to all the school librarians I follow—I’ve never met, scrolling past me on my phone. That’s why I’m sharing the books that showed up on my For You Page (FYP) the most for the past few weeks.

In the middle of endless scrolling and constantly refreshing feeds, these books were pushed on me by my—scarily accurate—algorithm. But my FYP didn’t just show me what was popular; it showed me a glimpse of what other people my age and younger have been reading. For more on BookTok, check out this blog I wrote on it!
