Trigger warnings: some intense emotional scenes; a suicide

About the Author: Yayoiso, meaning “Evening Grass,” is the pen name of the author of ReLIFE. Yayoiso came up with the idea for her manga series after a similar experience quitting a job three months after starting. She wanted to portray that second chance at life the ReLIFE program is all about.

Fireworks may vanish, but memories remain.

ReLIFE is an eight volume webcomic series about 27-year-old Arata Kaizaki who lives his life as a neet, or a person Not in Education, Employment, or Training. One day, Kaizaki meets a mysterious man claiming to be from a program called ReLIFE which could offer Kaizaki a second chance at life. With nothing to lose, Kaizaki accepts the proposal and after taking a special pill, is physically transformed into his seventeen-year-old body and goes back to high school for one year. If Kaizaki can perform well during the year, he will be offered a job by ReLIFE. Even though he tries to pass the year quietly and uninvolved, Kaizaki soon discovers that his second chance at life must begin with his high school classmates. This is a fun-loving series focused on the difficulties we all face in life and the courage to continue on despite them.
