Juggling school and work is stressful for everyone, but for readers, it can be particularly challenging. Now that the hectic school year is over and the workload has disappeared, I have more time to fully engage in the books I’ve been dying to read. Here is my Summer Reading List!

This graphic novel follows Frances and her journey to becoming a famous seamstress. She is hired by Prince Sebastian, who reveals a secret to her: he feels the most confident when he wears dresses and takes on a different identity—Lady Crystallia. The two work together to achieve their dreams and form an unbreakable bond. It’s heartwarming, romantic, and has beautiful illustrations.

This gothic Swan Lake retelling follows Odile, the daughter of a sorcerer. She has been trained to carry out a secret mission where her goal is to steal the king’s enchanted crown for her father, in hopes of restoring magic for his selfish gain.
It’s filled with mystery, romance, and heartache that tugs at the heartstrings. If this catches your interest, I have a full review on our website.
This story follows Wendy Darling reuniting with Neverland and a romance with an amazing love interest. There’s adventure, beautiful descriptions of the land, and a sweet romance. The story begins with Wendy meeting a mysterious stranger who leads her to Neverland. The two are forced to work together in order to save a lost boy, while both feuding and in disagreement about the true evil of Neverland.
I also have a review of this story.

After reading Better Than the Movies, I had to pick up the sequel because I completely fell in love with Wes and Liz’s love story. A tragic event leaves Wes in a horrible place, and he loses Liz in the process. After some time apart and healing, they are both in better places, and Wes is determined to win back Liz’s heart through the rom-com gestures she loves.
I am excited for the yearning and groveling this book will bring, and I cannot wait to pick it up. If you’re looking for a cheesy rom-com, I recommend reading Better Than the Movies.

A young healer, Serena Rose, spends her days living alone in a cottage in the middle of the woods, taking care of her family’s ancient records of fairy tales—many of which are banned in the kingdom of Lumina. One day, she meets a dark-haired stranger who’s looking for a book, Tales of Arcana Fortune. The two accidentally free a cruel immortal creature that was sealed away with a spell. They are cursed to be trapped in a different fairy tale each night, and the only way out is to complete the trials of each fairy tale.
I absolutely love the synopsis for this book and immediately downloaded it on Kindle Unlimited.

Lately, I’ve been missing reading about supernatural beings. I absolutely love werewolves, but since I recently rewatched Twilight, I’ve been craving something similar.
This story is the first of a series and follows Grace Foster, who attends an academy for supernaturals after the death of her parents. She meets a vampire named Jaxon Vega, who has dark secrets and a tragic past. Grace feels drawn to him for an unknown reason, but decides to seek him out, hoping she’ll be able to break down the wall he forces up.
I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews regarding this series, so I’m going to head in with an open mind and hope for the best.

This magical dark academia novel explores Faith, who is a young girl attending a school of magic in a town called Ellery West. One day, Faith and another student walk into the woods, but Faith is the only one who leaves, causing her reputation to tank as her classmates begin to believe she is a danger to them. However, Faith refuses to leave because if she does leave Ellery West, she’ll lose her magic. When Faith finds out that dark magic has been unleashed within her community, she is determined to put a stop to it.
I am very excited for this horror fantasy and had planned to read it back in March for its release; however, school got in the way. I have also heard it has a subtle sapphic romance, which I’ve been trying to find more of.
